PCA's Club Team Registration is OPEN for Short-Course Season. 

 

 
 

USA Club Groups (USA swimming membership required) 

Coaches for the following groups are registered through USA Swimming and have extensive swim backgrounds both as athletes and coaches, and obtain continuing education hours each year.  All group coaches are certified lifeguards through America Red Cross.

Senior - $405 for Short-Course Season collected in 3 payments of $135

This group will be composed of swimmers who are high school age and up. Senior swimmers will be subjected to high level training plans integrated with dryland and strength work. Training will be geared towards achieving maximum performances at championship meets each season. Regular attendance at practice and meets will be expected for Senior swimmers who desire to be successful.  

Prerequisite: 9th grade and above

 

Juniors - $125/month 

The top-tier age group will be primarily composed of middle school age swimmers and will practice 6 days per week. Training plans for this group will mirror those of the Senior team. Juniors swimmers will be introduced to high volume training integrated with dryland exercises. Stroke technique instruction will be blended into training phases. The goals of training will be to enhance strokes and achieve maximum performances at championship meets each season. Regular attendance will be expected for Juniors swimmers who desire to be successful.

 

Prerequisites: Middle School (grades 6,7,8) Proficiency in all four strokes and ability to train at advanced intervals over a 2-hour span.

 

 

Breakers - $105/month

The third-tier age group will focus primarily on stroke technique development and will have an introduction to volume training. Practices in this group will be offered 5 days per week. Breakers swimmers will also build on dryland training skills. The goal of these swimmers should be to gain proficiency in any stroke which is not adequate for legal swimming in competition and improve practice and race endurance. Other areas of focus will include race starts, turn techniques and pace clock management.

Prerequisites: Age 8-13. Proficiency in at least two strokes (100 yd continuous swim) and ability to train over a 1.5-hour span. 

 

 

Swells - $85/month

Our second-tier level Club age group’s primary focus will be on developing stroke techniques, body positions, racing starts and turns. Swimmers in this group will practice 4 days per week and will receive base level dryland training. The age range for this group will be restricted to 6-12 years old. Stroke instruction will be broken down into segments which the swimmer can comprehend and execute. Endurance building will also be blended into the overall training design. The goals of swimmers in this group should include gaining proficiency in any stroke which is not adequate for legal swimming in competition and practice.  Swimmers in this group will be eligible to participate in meets.

 

Prerequisites: Age 6-12. Ability to swim 2 lengths (50 yards) unassisted and without stopping for 2 different strokes with use of correct mechanics.

 

 

Ripples- $75/month

 

Our entry level age group's primary focus will be on developing and practicing stroke drills, basic stroke techniques, body positions and turns for each stroke. The age range for this group will be restricted to 6-11 year olds. Swimmers in this group will practice 3 days per week and have an introduction to dryland training. Stroke instruction will be broken down into segments which the swimmer can comprehend and execute. Coaches will spend time modeling each stroke and providing feedback. Endurance building will also be blended into the overall training design. The goals of swimmers in this group should include gaining proficiency in any stroke which is not adequate for legal swimming in competition and practice. Swimmers in this group will be eligible to participate in meets at the coach's discretion.

 

Prerequisite: Age 6-11. Ability to swim 2 lengths (50 yards) unassisted, without stopping, and use of correct mechanics (example-side breathing freestyle).

 
 

General Information regarding Club Training Groups:

  • Promotions from group to group will be at the sole discretion of the coaching staff. Parents will be consulted when the coaches feel a swimmer is ready for promotion into a higher group. 

  • Parents have the authority to retain their child in their current training group even with coach recommendation for promotion.
